Dynamic DNS (DDNS) solves the problem of accessing your home network when your ISP changes your IP address. Most residential internet connections use dynamic IPs that change periodically. DDNS keeps a domain name pointing to your current IP, making your home servers, cameras, and devices accessible even when your IP changes.
Is VolaryDDNS really free? What's the catch?
Yes, VolaryDDNS is completely free to use. There are no hidden fees, no premium tiers, and no ads. We're supported by donations from users who find our service valuable. Our costs are kept low through efficient infrastructure and the support of Cloudflare.
How often does my IP address update?
Your IP address is updated as soon as our scripts detects a change. Our script check every 10 minutes, and our system propagates this change instantly. There's no limit to how many updates you can make per day, so your domain will always point to your current IP address.
Can I use my own domain instead of a subdomain?
Currently, we only support subdomains on volary.cloud. Custom domain support is on our roadmap for future development. If you need this feature urgently, please contact us and we can discuss potential solutions.
How secure is VolaryDDNS?
Security is our priority. All connections use HTTPS, and API tokens are randomly generated with high entropy. Cloudflare provides DDoS protection for all domains. We don't have access to your home network - we only maintain the DNS records that point to your IP address.
